Speak Up

Speak Up is a three-level training program for young people aged 14 to 25 who want to become a CREATE Young Consultant. Participants learn about the care system and develop advocacy, leadership and public speaking skills. Young Consultants use their stories and experiences to represent CREATE at local, state or national events and forums.  You can learn more about Speak Up and hear what young people and carers have to say about the program here.

CREATE Your Future

CREATE Your Future is a series of holistic life skills workshops that support young people aged 15 to 25 in their transition from care to independence and adulthood. Coupled with an informative website, createyourfuture.org.au, this program also includes an annual Grant Scheme to enable young people who are members of clubCREATE to reach their full potential. In the past, grants have been provided for the purchase of laptops, driving lessons, educational resources and accommodation and living expenses.

Youth Advisory Groups

Youth Advisory Groups are forums for children and young people aged 10 to 25 to meet regularly, usually at a fun activity, to discuss issues they are facing within the care system. They can also provide input into resource development, programs and general government or organisational policy.

Go Your Own Way Kits

Our Go Your Own Way (leaving care) Kit is a resource for young people aged 15 and above who are starting to plan for their transition to adulthood and independence. The kit is filled with resources and information to assist the planning process and provide caseworkers, young people and carers with the information they need to plan for a successful transition.

Case Worker Training

CREATE caseworker training is facilitated by CREATE staff and Young Consultants. The aim of this training is to build the knowledge and skills of caseworkers and social workers so they can better understand the needs of young people in care. It also helps them engage in a positive and constructive way in case planning and case support.

CREATE Participation Portal

Children and young people with a care experience are at the centre of the work that we do. All of these services we offer provide an entry point for children and young people to interact with CREATE and forms a pathway for CREATE to utilise their voices to influence change within the care system.
