CREATE is a finalist in the 2019 Human Rights Awards!

Awarded each year by the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Human Rights Awards recognise and celebrate people and organisations that fight for human rights and freedoms.

This year, CREATE Foundation is a finalist for the Community Organisation Award. This award is given to a non-government organisation that progresses or defends human rights in Australia. Past recipients of this award include Marriage Equality Australia and Blind Citizens Australia.

We’re so humbled to be a finalist for this award, and to be able to bring more attention to the challenges faced by children and young people with a care experience across Australia, as well as their incredible achievements in the face of adversity.

The voices of children and young people with a care experience are

at the centre of everything we do. From our strategic plan to our submissions, our efforts are guided by the ideas and experiences of those who have firsthand experience of the care system. We wouldn’t be shortlisted for this award without the young people who have advocated for change and shared their stories.

Winners of the 2019 Human Rights Awards will be announced on December 13th in Sydney. If you would like to attend the Awards, or to learn more about the Human Rights Awards and the other finalists, click the button below.
