Being in out-of-home care can sometimes feel isolating. These events, and the opportunity to meet new friends and have a fun day full of activities while sharing their own stories can help create a sense of belonging. Connection Events provide a safe environment to enable and support the building of natural friendships, and for children and young people to find they are not alone in their care experience.
Connection Events aren’t just for the kids too! Carers and workers are welcome to get involved to foster positive relationships with the children in their care. Whether it be Easter parties, Christmas parties or Sibling Connection Events, these free, fun-filled days allow children the chance to connect, play and delight in activity-packed fun for all involved!
To find out what Connection Events are happening near you, see the events below!

This website was built in consultation with children and young people with a care experience. Thank you to all the young people involved in providing feedback and sharing your insights throughout this process.
CREATE Foundation acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples and Traditional Owners of the lands, skies and waters where we live and work. We pay deep respect to Elders, knowledge holders and community leaders across all Aboriginal communities.
We acknowledge that Australia is culturally rich with the oldest living cultures on earth. And we acknowledge over 60,000 years of growing kids strong, connected to culture and Country.
