Annual Key Dates and Events

World Care Day (third Friday in Feb each year)

Each year, CREATE celebrates World Care Day – the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with a care experience. It’s a day to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and highlight the strengths and achievements of young people in care.

History of World Care Day: Now in its’ ninth year, the Care Day initiative is underpinned by a collective of nine global voice of care organisations from across the world, including EPIC in Ireland, VOYPIC in Northern Ireland, Who Cares? Scotland, and Become in the UK, Voices from Care in Wales, Fepa in Spain, Fice in Croatia, Voyce in New Zealand and CREATE in Australia all working together to promote conversations about young people defying the odds and succeeding in their own right.

Queensland Art Competitions and Showcases

Celebrating the creativity of Queensland Children and young people with a care experience. Our Queensland Art Competitions and Showcases are back, proudly supported by the Queensland Family and Child Commission.

“I really do think my son had newfound confidence after seeing his artwork displayed and then going up on stage and everyone clapping for him and he got a trophy!” - Parent of Young Artist

Feedback & Complaints

This website was built in consultation with children and young people with a care experience. Thank you to all the young people involved in providing feedback and sharing your insights throughout this process.

CREATE Foundation acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples and Traditional Owners of the lands, skies and waters where we live and work. We pay deep respect to Elders, knowledge holders and community leaders across all Aboriginal communities.

We acknowledge that Australia is culturally rich with the oldest living cultures on earth. And we acknowledge over 60,000 years of growing kids strong, connected to culture and Country. Read CREATE Foundation's Reconciliation Action Plan.
