September advocacy focus
Celebrating Child Protection Week
CREATE had a busy September celebrating National Child Protection Week in every State and Territory. We’d like to thank our Young Consultants for attending and speaking at events with CREATE right around the country. CREATE in TAS also ran several YAGs to capture Young Tasmanians thoughts on this year’s Child Protection Week theme, ‘Every conversation matters’.
CREATE updates
CREATE’s National Experience to Action Board (Youth) met for the second time to provide advice on priority areas for children and young people in out-of-home care across Australia. They also shared their thoughts on strategic goals for CREATE’s updated Strategic Plan and finalised the NEABY brand to be released soon…

News
We’ve been talking a lot about how to make sure young people have a say in the changes that affect them. The CREATE in ACT team has had some fantastic meetings with politicians and key decision-makers, and the Listen to me! report is getting more attention. The big goal here is to make sure kids in out-of-home care get what they need. We’re excited to keep the conversation going and hope everyone stays interested and involved!
